A strong asset in LinkEX is the ability to verify a link back from a link trading partner.
LinkEX can retrieve the web page which supposedly has a link back to your site, and make sure a link really is present.
You can even set the back link checker on auto pilot using cronjob or something similar.
Procedure explained
To get an understanding on how LinkEX does the verification of back links, the procedure is explained below.
• First the "Skip check" attribute is checked, and the checking is skipped if it is set.
• Next the "Reciprocal link URL" is fetched and the HTTP Status header is checked to see if the page is ok.
• Then all links are extracted from the HTML, that is all <a>-tags, and each link is compared to the URLs configured under Website URL and Alternative backlinks configured under the Admin » Settings » Linking settings.
If Validate anchor is enabled, LinkEX will also compare the anchor text of the links to the Website title(s).
• Finally the PageRank™ is checked.
