Unable to create directory "/home/mysite/public_html/LinkEx/data/backup/"

I have chmod the folder linkex to 777. What is wrong?

I also tryed to create "data" folder manually and chmod that folder to 777.
After that, I checked if he have create the news folders, and he did It!
But when I go to linkex directory, I cant see the registration page anymore!
Appears an page with "Rules", "Linking Details", etc... But appears that:
<a href="" title=""></a>

And I cant login!

I notice that I have a new file in the linkex directory called "error_log".
That file have this error:
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /home/mysite/public_html/LinkEx/index.php on line 1

Please help...
I dont have ICQ, only MSN!

I had the same problem and use the next solution:

I try to explain it...

- First you create a map called linkex
- Next: create a map data into the linkex map
- Next: create a map backup into the data map
- Next: create a map categories into the data map
- Next: create a map config into the data map
- Next: create a map links into the data map
- Next: create a map output into the data map
- Next: cmod all the maps you created to 777
- Next: FTP your index.php into the linkex map
- Next: go to http://www.yourdomain.com/linkex
- Next: the script is running!!
