LinkEX

can anyone tell me if you can use linkex on the same page as smart thumbs? Since smart thumbs is based off a templated
file with .shtml output i thought it would work, but it seems I was either wrong or have some sort of error as I cannot
seem to get the linkex output code to generate. I get <error occured while processing this directive...>

Any help woud be appreciated.
