Feature requests » 3rd party only feature, or at least try that first

When AutoAdd-ing it would be nice if you could first (via the bot) ask the other site if it will 3rd party, or tell it
that you will do that etc.... Since the first choice anyone would want is a third party link since google and others are
starting to detect straight exchanges.

I also don't understand why some people restrict you to a front page link exchange only, it's stupid if google thinks
some of the lame sites I see with a bunch of links all over the front page and not much content are really worth
"more" and give you a higher rating.

Thanks for the AutoAdd feature, it works pretty good, but only about 20% of a big list I used were not captcha enabled,
sad...

3rd party is going to be hard for webmasters to track, you don't want to accidentally put your link on both 3rd party
sites, it would defeat the purpose, so some sort of management software should be made and thinking about it, it's not
going to be simple, maybe one site would have a list of hashes for each site submitted on a web page that's accessable
from the guy's other site, man that twists my brain around just thinking about it.

Hi Jim,

3 or 4 way links is definatly the way to go, and it is planned for the autoadd feature.
LinkEX can already track 4 ways links right now, when you ustilize the "Alternative backlinks" in the
settings.
My plan is to have an "alternative backlink" attached to each link, so a link in LinkEX is defined with:
Link URL
BackLink URL
Alternative backlink

and the validator will check if there is a link on "BackLink URL" that points to either the Config->URL,
Config->AlternativeBacklinks or Link->AlternativeBacklinks

The give an example: In your LinkEX (installed on http://www.siteD.com) you will have a link with the following
settings:
Link URL: http://www.siteA.com (this is the site you link to)
Backlink URL: http://www.siteB.com (this is where your partner has placed your link)
Alternative backlink: htttp://www.siteC.com (this is another one of your sites, where the partner should link to)

This will result in:
SiteD -> SiteA
SiteB -> SiteC

It's just a matter of time before it's implemented

I love that! Let the search engines try to figure that out.

Off Topic: I forgot to mention I've already started to get spam from the few exchanges I've made so far. There's no way
to tell what the people on the other side will do with your e-mail address, no privacy policy from the other side (which
would not be worth adding that feature).
