I always feel that pages that I try to trade links with have too many external links. I now allow 100 external
(excluding nofollow, even though that's not useful anymore since google released the information that link juice is
still getting lost on nofollow) links but almost every other page has more.

Do you think it's still useful to trade with pages that have more than 100 links?

I leave mine pretty much open and set to the defaults. Having links on my
page costs me nothing. I don't know why people worry about it.

Restricting the number of links only lowers the number of sites your link will
show up on. (as does any other restrictions you put on)

If your site is PR4 or better, you can probably be more picky.
